Isoplam® dilation joints for flooring, enclosed inside the concrete floors, serve to separate portions of flooring made in different periods.

PREFABRICATED CONSTRUCTION JOINTS ISOPLAM®

For the above reasons, prefabricated or partially prefabricated junction systems were developed to simplify the execution and to make the dilation joints more durable over time for exterior flooring, for squares and industrial floors.
Prefabricated type joints consist of two attached “L“-shaped galvanized metal plates, with average thickness of 3 mm with or without galvanizing.
The two plates comprise a hidden formwork set in the floor with the following functions:
- Constitute a containment and reinfor concrete element in the upper corner of the plate to protect it from the stress deriving from vehicle traffic.
- Isoplam® flooring joints function as formwork at full thickness.
- They keep the beams flowing perfectly horizontally in a direction orthogonal to their own plain.

For installation of flooring joints at the worksite, before the pouring, the two plates must be attached by a bolt that holds it perfectly in position.

The bolt used is of plastic material and thus requires no removal, in contrast to the others in iron that are removed before pouring the second layer of concrete.
The beams must be smooth to facilitate the flow of portions of concrete, while the diameter, the length and center base must be suited to the thickness of the flooring.

Normally, it is sufficient to use 18 mm diameter beams for floors of less than 15cm thickness and 20 mm beams in the case of greater thickness. The length of the bars must not be lower than 60cm and their center base is recommended to be no lower than 50cm (on the average, equal to the length of the beam); this serves to distribute the stress transmitted from the bars to the concrete flooring uniformly.
